Making a Difference

Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Intersectionality and Queer Women, and a source of much success for our Women Empowerment Non-Profit Organization. Here are some great support services.

Ultra Violet Action

UltraViolet uses its online platform and email newsletters to keep its supporters informed on actions to take and abreast of concerns that could impact women, and it has a particular focus on women of color.

Nation Indigenous Women's Resource Center

, the National Indigenous Women's Resource Center is a Native nonprofit organization created specifically to serve as the National Indian Resource Center (NIRC) Addressing Domestic Violence and Safety for Indian Women.

The Arab American Association of New York

The Women's March on Washington was led in part by national co-chair Linda Sarsour, the Executive Director of the Arab American Association of New York. She is described on its website as, "a Palestinian Muslim American and a self-proclaimed 'pure New Yorker, born and raised in Brooklyn!,'" and also as the "co-founder of the first Muslim online organizing platform, MPOWER Change."

National Organization For Women

he National Organization for Women, or NOW, states that, "since our founding in 1966, NOW’s purpose is to take action through intersectional grassroots activism to promote feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life."
NOW was founded in 1966 by 28 women at the Third National Conference of Commissions on the Status of Women in June of that year, and founders included Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm, and Pauli Murray. Its "Issues" page includes a focus on Racial Justice, and states, "NOW continues to fight for equal opportunities for women of color in all areas including employment, education & health care."
NOW also participated in the March, and tweeted, "An incredible time at the #WomensMarch in DC!"

National Black Women's Justice Institute

NBWJI works independently and in collaboration with a number of domestic universities, organizations, and consultants to conduct its work on behalf of Black women and girls in the U.S. who are impacted by criminalization and the criminal justice system directly and indirectly because of their race and gender. NBWJI also works in collaboration with organizations that elevate equity discourses among all women and girls.

Serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and questioning community.

Human Rights Campaign

The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where every member of the LGBTQ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear, and with equality under the law. We empower our 3 million members and supporters to mobilize against attacks on the most marginalized people in our community.

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD)

The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is a convener, connector, and catalyst for change, increasing the political and economic power of people with disabilities.
As a national cross-disability rights organization, AAPD advocates for full civil rights for the over 60 million Americans with disabilities by promoting equal opportunity, economic power, independent living, and political participation.

These are just a few websites with supporting causes for all people, LGBTQ+, Trans, Asian, Latinx, Black, Muslim, Disabled, and Poor.
